About image compression
What compression does
Compression stores the same picture in fewer bytes. Lossy compression, used by JPG and WebP, discards fine detail that is hard to notice, which is why it can shrink files dramatically. Lossless compression, used by PNG, keeps every pixel exactly but saves much less.
How much is appropriate
For photos on a web page, a balanced setting usually cuts file size substantially with little visible change. Go lower for thumbnails and previews, and higher for images people will zoom into or print. If an image looks blocky or smeared, compress again from your original at a higher quality.
Why PNG files barely shrink
Browsers encode PNG losslessly, so lowering quality has no effect on it. If a PNG photo is too large, converting it to WebP or JPG usually saves far more space than compressing the PNG itself.

No. Compression happens in your browser, so your images stay on your device.
Which formats are supported?
JPG, PNG, WebP and GIF files can be added. GIFs are saved as a single still image.
Will compression reduce image quality?
Lossy formats lose a little detail at lower quality settings. The balanced preset is chosen so the change is hard to notice in most photos.
Why didn't my PNG get much smaller?
PNG is lossless in the browser, so quality settings do not apply. Try converting it to WebP or JPG.
Is there a limit on how many images I can add?
There is no fixed limit, but each file must be under 60 MB. Very large batches depend on your device's memory.
